Thinking of a brilliant and unique way of hosting a bridal shower?  Let’s Get Crafty!

Why not celebrate the bride to be with a crafting party?  Most bridal showers are the same old story, a few games, food, laughs and everyone goes home empty handed.

Depending on how many quests are being invited there are many ways to incorporate creating something memorable and inexpensive for the guests to take home.

One idea is to have wine glasses or any type of drinking glass and have the guests paint them.  

Many of the discount stores like the Dollar Tree sell the glasses for $1.00.  You can find inexpensive paint, brushes, stencils  and other supplies at Hobby Lobby or Walmart.  The guests will be able to create their own masterpieces, paint the date on their item and remember celebrating their friend for years to come.  

Another idea is decoupage (or découpage), which is the art of decorating an object by gluing colored papercutouts onto it in combination with special paint effects. The most common and easiest way to get the cutouts is from magazines or newspapers.  Again you can find inexpensive items at the Dollar Tree, Walmart and Hobby Lobby.  

A more expensive but educational way of enjoying the bridal party would be to hire an instructor and give the guests a beginner lesson on drawing/sketching or painting. What a joyful and entertaining way of spending a few hours with great friends, laughing and possibly learning that you have a new found talent as an artist! Que magnifique!
