Denver Sports Fan Proposal Ideas

Published February 7, 2016

Are you a Denver Sports fan?

Do you enjoy embarrassing or romantic large scale public displays of affection?

Then we have some super sports proposal ideas for you!

Some women say they think it is super cute to be proposed to at a sporting event, while others think it is a hoax to get attention or even cliché. However, if you are a brave soul and feel your lady would giggle and enjoy a public proposal at a sporting event, we wanted to give you a few tips and suggestions.

How to propose at a Broncos Game

Sports Authority Field at Mile High accepts requests for scoreboard messages at least a month prior and on a first-come-first-served basis. This means you will need to do some pre-planning to pull it off. There is a small fee that is donated to the Denver Broncos Charities and there is a limit on the characters allowed. Your proposal will be shown on the south scoreboard during the Denver Broncos halftime. Some restrictions apply, so learn more about how to propose at a Broncos Game on their website.

How to propose at a Rockies Game

A little less planning is needed here, as Coors Field needs a minimum of 72 hours before the game day announcement to place a personal message on the board. Messages can be up to 40 characters and will scroll before the top of each inning on the matrix board under the Mountain Ranch Bar & Grille in right field. There is a nominal fee that goes to the Colorado Rockies Charity Fund, which can be remitted via their website. (Look under “G” for the Guest Announcement Board).

How to propose at an Avalanche Game

The Pepsi Center allows short messages to be displayed during games with a minimum 48 hour notice and a small fee. Another special service they offer- free of charge- is coming to your seat, announcing your special occasion and getting crowd excitement. You must call ahead to make either of these arrangements. Get more information on their site by going to “Scoreboard Messaging”.

Tips to avoid a penalty:

  1. Plan ahead

Be sure to have the ring, as well as people designated to snap photos of the scoreboard and of the actual proposal, ready ahead of time. Buy an aisle seat and have your honey sit there so when you kneel you are in a clear area of stairs rather than in a crowded mid-aisle crouch. Carnations can come in a wide variety of colors, so consider getting a dozen or so in the colors of the sports team.

  1. Be a winner

If your lady will be appearing on a big screen or showing up in photos, make sure she is looking her best so she’s not upset later. You always think she looks great, but inviting her bestie, who is in on the surprise, will help her look her best and will be appreciated. In addition to her best friend helping, she can give you advice about whether or not this type of proposal is a good idea. She can tell you if there are any reservations about saying yes, which is important to know before you pop the question in front of a huge crowd.

Once you have proposed, The Quebec Place at Fairmount would love to get creative with you and help you have a sports themed wedding, reception or anniversary party! The Quebec Place, or ‘The Q’, at Fairmount is a beautiful new wedding venue in Denver.
